Six children hurt in Assam earthquake

Guwahati, November 6 : : Six school children were injured and cracks appeared in several buildings, including five schools, in Assam as a moderate earthquake rocked the north eastern Indian state on Wednesday, officials said.

The epicenter of the tremor measuring 5.5 intensity on the Richter Scale was at Borpathar area in Karbi Anglong district.

Six school children were injured in Golaghat district when a part of a middle school building cracked down.

The tremor occurred at 9.46 am and was felt at several places in the state.
