FM channel launches Safe Diwali Campaign

Kolkata, Nov 1 : A tableau on wheels was flagged off by Debashish Kumar, Member Mayor in Council from New Market in Kolkata on Thursday to promote the importance of safety during the festival of lights.


The Safe Diwali campaign is an initiative of Power 107.8 FM and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC).

The campaign also found support from the members of the rock band Cactus and the lead pair of Bengali film 'Knock-out', Kinni and Shoaib.

The tableau van will move through various parts of the city till Diwali with messages spreading awareness against sound pollution caused by crackers.

The highest possible sound limit for fire crackers in West Bengal is 90 decibels at 5 meters from the source area of the sound.
