DMK chief asks PM to miss Colombo session

New Delhi, Oct 31 : Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) supremo M Karunanidhi on Thursday said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should boycott the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Colombo (CHOGM) to register protest over the alleged war crimes against Tamils in Sri Lanka.


The DMK chief warned that if Singh attends the conclave, "his party has to face the consequences."

According to reports, the Tamil Nadu state assembly had adopted a resolution urging that the PM skip the event.

Union Shipping Minister G K Vasan, who belongs to the Congress party, met Singh on Thursday to urge him to miss the Colombo session.
