The first blast took place at 5.10 p.m. when a bomb exploded at the auto parts market in the Double Road area of Quetta, capital of Balochistan province, Xinhua reported quoting police officer Arif Nawaz Khan as saying.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and the injured to hospital.
However, the impact of the first blast triggered the explosion of a gas cylinder of a vehicle parked nearby and injured a couple of rescuers, officials said.
At least five injured were said to be in critical condition and were being treated in intensive care units of a hospital.
The bomb blast, which also caused a big fire, destroyed eight vehicles completely and left 12 others damaged with the windowpanes of nearby buildings smashed.
Police said that around six-seven kg of explosives along with ball bearings were used in the bomb that was planted in a bicycle and detonated with a time device.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack strongly.
Police and security forces have cordoned off the area and started snap checking in the city.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
