BSF officials said today that the Pakistani intruders were shot dead at Mullapur village during the cross firing with a BSF patrolling party.
The BSF challenged the three intruders, who opened fire on the patrolling party. The latter , however, were killed in retaliatory firing.
BSF Inspector General (Frontier) A K Tomar told media here: "Some people tried to infiltrate an area that was under the supervision of the BSF. There posture was aggressive and they were challenging. The BSF opened fired in retaliation. Three people were killed in the firing."
"There were 22 packets of heroin in a pipe. One AK 47 and two magazines were recovered from one of them. All three of them are members of the drug mafia. They were desperately trying to infiltrate from their side of the border," he added.
He said BSF fired 91 rounds of ammunition during the encounter, and added that the heroin was probably from Afghanistan.
