The film, which is provisionally titled as F2014, is due for release next year to coincide with FIFA's 110th anniversary and the Rio World Cup.
According to the BBC, Blatter said in a video published on FIFA's website that Roth's casting was 'well done' and they had 'common qualities', adding that the video shows Blatter meeting with Roth for the first time in Zurich in a 'very interesting get-together'.
Blatter, who has run FIFA since 1998 amid a series of controversies including allegations of corruption, further said that he has read a lot about all the films made by Roth and was very eager to meet him.
The movie is being made by French production companies Leuviah and Thelma Films, the report added.
