"I don't plan my game to achieve a particular motive. All I can say, I just want to go out there and score runs for India and win games," Gambhir told reporters here.
Gambhir visited Kolkata on Friday to inaugurate Reebok's first 'Fit Hub' concept store.
Speaking to the reporter Gautam said, "Indian palyers have changed than what they used to be a 20-25 years ago. They have become more fitness aware and spend more time in the gym".
Speaking on Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who will retire from Test cricket next month, Gambhir said: "Sachin is a great player and he has an immense impact on Indian cricket....But we must understand that life moves on. New comers will have to continue from where he left and keep playing good cricket. I think we should cherish the good moments Sachin has given to Indian cricket instead of talking about the loss."
Gambhir said he hopes that India will bounce back in the ongoing One Day International (ODI) series against Australia.
"I wish I could predict. In a game of cricket there are many factors influencing a team's performance. Australia is playing too well but I think India will bounce back," Gambhir said.
Australia lead the series 2-1 at present.
