Karate player gang-raped in Amritsar

Amritsar, Oct 25 : A teenaged student, who is a karate player, was gang-raped by three people in this Punjab city Friday while she was her way to school, police said.

The victim was kidnapped by the three accused in a van and driven to an isolated place where she was gang-raped. Police said that one of the accused was known to the victim as they had been neighbours earlier.

The accused dropped her at her school after committing the crime and threatened her not to tell anyone about the incident.

Police officials said that they have booked the three people for rape, kidnapping and criminal intimidation. No arrests have been made so far.
