Hyundai successfully completed 15 years in India by bringing a varied range of products to the Indian market with an investment of USD 2.7 billion and production capacity of 6.8 lakh cars.
With a GDP contribution of 4 percent to Tamil Nadu State government, HMIL has significantly contributed to the Indian economy since 1996.
According to officials, Hyundai, which is leading with 46 percent export market share and 20.3 percent in the passenger car segment, has become the most loved and trusted car manufacturer in India.
"HMIL's CSR arm, Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) has been founded to follow sustainable, compassionate and effective practices for our stakeholder community and has announced a programme to plant 1 million trees as part of 'Go Green' Initiative," officials said.

HMIF has planted 2 lakh trees till date under this novel initiative.

HMIL noted that with the 5 million car roll-out, Hyundai also celebrates 15 years of excellence in India accompanied by their long term association with Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.
Hyundai and Shah Rukh Khan's association has been one of the longest brand ambassador associations in India.
