A Jodhpur court has given his custody to the Gujarat Police.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday summoned the Director General of Police (DGP) to get himself updated on the investigation into the case against Asaram and his son Narayan Sai.
The Surat Police have already issued summons to Narayan Sai.
Narayan, who was last seen at Jaipur Ashram of Asaram, had gone into hiding after complaints of rape was filed by two sisters against him and Asaram on Oct 6.
The Surat Police on Oct 7 issued a lookout notice against Narayan Sai.
The complaint was lodged by two sisters in Gujarat's Surat city.
While the elder sister had alleged that she was raped by Asaram, the younger one had accused his son of committing the same crime in Surat.
They said that they are Asaram's followers and the incidents reportedly took place between 2002 and 2004.
Asaram was sent to the Jodhpur Central Jail on Sept 2 after the court remanded him to a 14-day judicial custody first for assualting a minor.
Earlier, Asaram passed potency test, which established that he is medically fit and sexually potent.
The 15-year-old girl, who was staying at Asaram's hostel in Rajasthan's Jodhpur, had filed a First Information Report (FIR) at Kamla market police station in Delhi alleging she was sexually assaulted by the godman.
