Army unit shelters Odisha villagers

New Delhi, Oct 13 : The Army Air Defence at Gopalpur in Odisha sheltered people of four villages from the onslaught of the cyclonic storm Phailin, an official statement said Sunday.

"The villagers were given shelter in the army establishment and were provided food and other basic amenities (Saturday) before letting them proceed to their homes Sunday morning," said the statement.

The army had mobilised one engineering column with medical and signal equipment and personnel to tackle any emergency.
