President inaugurates museum at his old school

Kirnahar (West Bengal), Oct 11 : President Pranab Mukherjee Friday inaugurated a museum housing mementos and memorabilia of his school days at Kirnahar Shibchandra High School, Kirnahar, in Birbhum district of West Bengal.

Mukherjee studied at the school from 1946 to 1952.

Addressing the museum inaugural function, the president recalled his days as a schoolboy and referred to some former students who had gone on to make a mark in politics and academia.

Mementos, memorabilia, admission registers, and registers containing results of examinations in the schools are on display in the museum.

The register recording the president's admission to the school is on display, as also the register with a record of Mukherjee's father, freedom fighter Kamada Kinkar Mukherjee's admission to the same school.
