Chasing 202 for victory, India reached the target by losing only four wickets and two balls to spare in the only T20 match of the series.
Singh, who made another major comeback to the Indian side with a bang, hit eight boundaries and five sixes in his unbeaten knock and ensured India a comfortable victory at the end. MS Dhoni (24*) and Singh added 102 runs in the fifth wicket partnership and finished the task for the hosts.
India lost opener Rohit Sharma (8) early in the game but Shikhar Dhawan (32) and Suresh Raina (19) 38 runs in the second wicket partnership to help India stable the ship after receiving the initial jolt.
Virat Kohli scored 29 runs off 22 balls. He hit two boundaries and six in his knock.
Dhoni and Singh, however, finished the game for India.
Clint McKay picked up two wickets for Australia.
Riding on Aaron Finch's 89 runs, Australia earlier put up mammoth 201 for seven on the scoreboard.
Finch hit 14 boundaries and six in his 52-ball knock.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Vinay Kumar picked up three wickets each for India.
