Post-release marketing important: Mysskin
He is travelling from one city to another, sticking posters of his film himself and thanking viewers. Filmmaker Mysskin is doing all this to promote his recently released "Onayum Aatukuttiyum" as he feels post-release marketing is equally important for a movie's success.
Produced and directed by Mysskin, crime-thriller "Onayum Aatukuttiyum" released Sep 27 in Tamil Nadu.
Mysskin has toured cities like Madurai, Trichy and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.
"Some films, despite rave reviews, don't draw audiences to cinemas. This is because of the limited shows of that particular film in a theatre or the lack of aggressive promotions. Therefore, it's important for such films to continue promoting post-release," Mysskin told IANS.

Lack of funds didn't allow the filmmaker to market his film aggressively before its release.
"I couldn't find producers after the debacle of my last film ('Mugamoodi'). 'Onayum Aatukuttiyum' is a low-budget film and I didn't have more funds to promote it. The film opened to very good reviews, but unfortunately the shows in theatres were reduced to make way for another film," he said.
"I decided to promote on my own. I went to Madurai, Coimbatore and a few other places to thank fans who came to watch my film and create more buzz around it. I'm on the streets sticking posters of my film in the middle of the night because it saves me a lot of money and is impactful," he added.
