Champions League T20: Royals beat CSK to reach final

Jaipur, Oct 4 : R Ashwin's smashing 28-ball 46 knock went in vain, as Rajasthan Royals beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 14 runs to in the first semi-final of thew Champions League T20 to reach the final of the tournament at Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Friday.

Chasing Rajasthan's 159 for eight, CSK managed 145 for eight in 20 overs.

CSK's top order failed to contribute significantly with their bats with only

Suresh Raina scoring 29 off 23 balls. Murali Vijay added 14 runs with his willow.

Mike Hussey (9), S Badrinath (8), MS Dhoni (3), Dwayne Bravo (3) and Ravindra Jadeja (2) failed to contribute with their bats in this crucial match.

Ashwin and Chris Morris (26*) added 73 runs in the eighth wicket partnership but failed to finish the task for CSK.

Pravin Tambe picked up three wickets for Rajasthan.

Earlier, Rajasthan scored 159 for eight in 20 overs.

Ajinkya Rahane score 70 runs with his willow and hit six boundaries and two sixes in his knock.

Bravo picked up three wickets for CSK.
