The book is published by Dey's Publishing and has been edited by Neela Bandhopadhyay.
The event was graced by eminent personalities like poet Joy Goswami, eminent film and theatre scholar and critic Samik Bandyopadhyay, author Sibaji Bandhopadhyay, MP Srinjoy Bose, editor Neela Bandhopadhyay, singer turned actor Anindya Chattopadhyay.
The book was unveiled by Samik Bandyopadhyay and was then handed over to Rituparno's brother, Indranil Ghosh, who is a well-known art director.
The book 'First Person' is basically a culmination of a weekly column named 'First Person' by Rituparno.
The book, which comes in two individual volumes, comprises of columns Rituparno used to write for a weekly magazine named 'Robbar'.
Neela Bandhopadhyay, editor of the newly launched book 'First Person', said, "I am honoured that Ritu da had involved me in this journey and I feel great to categorize his write ups in 12 sections. Though the legend is no more with us but his book will help us catch a glimpse of our favourite Ritu da."
Joy Goswami said: "Ritu's First Person will make him remembered for years to come."
