Nikhil Kumar sworn in as Kerala Governor

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 23 : Former Nagaland Governor and ex-Indian Police Service Officer Nikhil Kumar was sworn in as the 20th Governor of Kerala at the Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.

Kumar was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Kerala Chief Justice Manjula Chellur.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Speaker G. Karthikeyan, cabinet members Adoor Prakash, P. K. Kunhalikutty, K. B. Ganesh Kumar, Shibu Baby John, K. C. Joseph,V. S. SivaKumar, C. N. Balakrishnan, Aryadan Mohammed, P. K. Jayalakshmi, Opposition Leader V. S. Achuthanandan, Deputy Speaker N. Sakthan, and other senior officials were present at the event.

Kumar had served as the Commissioner of Police, New Delhi.

He also served as the chief of National Security Guards.
