This name change procedure happened first in Pune, then in Varoda and gradually it happened in Kolkata. In 2006, Inox had 9 multiplex, 35
screens in 8 cities. In 2013, Inox has 73 multiplex, 284 screens in 40 cities.
Speaking on the brand change in Kolkata on Tuesday, Alok Tandon, CEO of Inox Leisure Limited, said, ‚Euroú In a country where movies are a way of life, we are grossly under screened. Inox has been on a steady expansion mode through organic as well as inorganic growth on the journey to its current leadership position. As we announce the brand change from FAME to INOX, we will continue to provide the best movie going offering to our guests and emphasize on our tag line ‚EuroėLIVE THE MOVIE‚Euroô as the complete INOX experience.‚EuroĚ
The forthcoming attractions are in cities like Noida, Gurgaon, Jalgaon, Jamnagar, Jaipur, Raipur, Kolkata Lucknow etc. The synergistic benefits of the acquisition are that they cater to around 4.4 crore guests every year. They have become the single largest integrated multiplex chain in the country.
There are many changes that took place in Inox after the brand name change. One of the most important change is that all the multiplexes
of FAME are no 100 pc 2K difital and 3 D enabled. All the multiplexes are managed by a Central Network Operating Centre (NOC) that controls
monitors and all the screens across the country. The headquarters of this is in Mumbai.
Alok Tandon confirmed that after their request to the various state governments to rationalize the taxes, in states like Punjab and Rajasthan, taxes have been rationalized.
He also confirmed that within one and half month all screens of FAME will be converted to INOX.
The upcoming 8th multiplex of Inox will be opened in the newly launched Quest Mall in Kolkata.
