Want Modi to change system: Jagan

Hyderabad, Sept 30 : Making a surprise move, YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday praised Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and said he wants the Gujarat Chief Minister to change the entire system in bringing every party on to a secular platform.

"I appreciate Narendra Modi as an administrator. I want Narendra Modi to change this entire system and in bringing every party on to a secular platform in the interest of the nation," Jagan said while addressing a press conference as he pointed that he was keeping his options open ahead of the Lok Sabha polls next year.

Sixteen months after he was arrested in connection with a disproportionate assets case, YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy walked out of Chanchalguda jail in Hyderabad on Sept 24.

A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special court on Sept 23 granted him a conditional bail after the probe agency informed the court that it has completed investigation in all the cases against him.

The probe agency had arrested Jagan on May 27, 2012.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court ordered a CBI probe into Jagan's wealth on Aug 11, 2011 after Congress leader P Shankar Rao filed a written petition in Nov 2010 seeking it, terming his property as "ill-gotten".

Jagan's father YSR Reddy, who was a Congress strongman and chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, died in a helicopter crash in 2009.
