Kerala cricket finally gets something to cheer

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 29 : Reeling under the disappointment of Sreesanth's life ban, there was something to cheer for Kerala cricket Sunday as six officials of the state body made it to different committees of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at its Annual General Meeting in Chennai.

The biggest beneficiary was Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) president T.C. Matthew, who was made the chairman of the elite National Cricket Academy (NCA) and also found a place in the governing council of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Mathew told IANS that this is huge recognition for KCA.

"This is probably the first time that an administrator from the state has been given an important post. I will give my best to see that I do justice to my selection," said Mathew told IANS from Chennai.

KCA secretary T.N. Ananthanarayanan made it to the junior cricket committee, joint secretary Jayesh George was given a place in the anti-corruption committee. Among other administrators, T.R. Balakrishnan (marketing committee), K. Jayaram (junior selector) and S. Haridas (senior cricket committee) were also in different BCCI sub-committees.
