Now that your latest flick Besharam is about to hit the theatres, tell us what is the most shameless act you have done so far?
I dropped my towel in my very first film (Saawariya, 2007). What can be a more shameless act than that.
What about this film?
I have done a lot of besharmi in this film as well. However, we want to convey a positive note through the movie's title. Besharam doesn't mean that you keep embarassing people or you cross a limit. But Besharam here is an attitude which says don't be scared of the world, whatever you think right or wrong, just go by it.
What are the principles that you follow in life?
I have two basic principles in my life. There is one thing that both my parents used to tell me as a child. That is, a handsome is what a handsome does. It's not that you are handsome if you have a good face or a good brain. What makes you handsome is the kind of work you do and the kind of human being that you are. Another thing my father said before I became an actor is that don't take your success to your head and your failure to your heart.
Do you think Besharam will cross the Rs 100-crore mark?
I am an actor, not a trade analyst. Now-a-days, everyone has become a trade analyst and tags a film as Rs 100 crore, Rs 150 crore. It is very important that a film should earn money as filmmaking is an expensive proposition. Even for Besharam we have tried that it earns maximum money. It's an entertaining film, we added a lot of masala to it ... there is action, comedy and romance ... there are songs, dances, my parents, me and a new girl. There are a lot of things in this film to draw the audience. Now we can just hope for the best.
How ambitious are you as a person?
Quite ambitious I must say. I wanted to be an actor. I want to direct and produce films as well. At the age of 30, I am producing a film Jagga Jasoos. I have teamed up with Anurag Basu (director). Our production house is called Picture Shuru Productions. I am really excited about my first production.
When is direction happening?
As I said I also want to direct a film. But at the moment I am busy as an actor and a producer. But I might direct a film in near future.
You and your mother (Neetu Singh Kapoor) recently promoted your film on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 7. In your house, who is the most knowledgeable person?
My father (Rishi Kapoor) of course. He has this knack for gathering knowledge - be it general knowledge or something about life. I remember in my childhood when we used to go out for dinner, he always used to play quiz with me and Riddhima (Ranbir's sister).
What will you have - love or arrange marriage?
Let me make one thing very clear ... my mother (Neetu Singh Kapoor) won't choose her daughter-in-law. I will search and get a wife for myself.
