Mahapatra hosted a painting exhibition on Thursday at the West Gallery, Academy of Fine Arts titled 'Signature.
The sale proceeds of the exhibition will directly go to Touch World and qualify for exemption U/S 80-G of IT Act.
Present at the event were renowned classical danseuse Alokananda Roy, who is also the founder of Touch World, along with painter Subhaprasanna Bhattacharjee, poet Joy Goswami, Tollywood actress Chaiti Ghoshal, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Bratati Mukherjee and former Mrs India International 2011 Richa Sharma.
Mahapatra said, "The secrets of nature have intrigued my thoughts completely beyond normal human apprehension and when I got the opportunity to express my inmost fascination I believed in soaring high with the spirit of the cause Touch World is fighting for".
Bratati Mukherjee said, "It feels always good to become a part of any noble cause. They are undoubtedly doing a good service for the down trodden."
