New 'Milky Way Mission' reality series to send celebs to space

Washington, Sept. 27 : Sony Pictures Television and Dutch broadcaster Nederland 1 have announced a new series called 'Milky Way Mission' that will send celebs to space.

According to Fox News, the new series will put a batch of Dutch celebs through intense astronaut training in a competition to end up on a flight out of Earth's atmosphere, the New York Daily News reported.

Wayne Garvie, CEO of international production at Sony Pictures Television, said that for years people dreamt about the possibility of a show in space and now Sony Pictures Television is poised to make that dream real.

As several private companies are in the process of preparing for space tourism flights in the not-too-distant future, other similarly themed television projects are in the works.
