DA case: Jagan gets bail
YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has been granted bail after 16 months in jail in connection with a disproportionate assets case.
A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special court on Monday granted him a conditional bail after the probe agency informed the court that it has completed investigation in all the cases against him.
According to the conditions, he would not be allowed to leave Hyderabad, would respond to court summons and pay a surety of Rs. 2 lakh.
The CBI has filed a total of 10 chargesheets against Jagan in the DA case.
The probe agency had arrested Jagan on May 27, 2012.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court ordered a CBI probe into Jagan's wealth on Aug 11, 2011 after Congress leader P Shankar Rao filed a written petition in Nov 2010 seeking it, terming his property as "ill-gotten".
Jagan's father YSR Reddy, who was a Congress strongman and chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, died in a helicopter crash in 2009.
