CII Eastern Region launches Help Desk
As part of its stated goal to create industrial peace and harmony and step up membership services, CII Eastern Region launched a dedicated Help Desk on Industrial Relations on Monday in Kolkata.
West Bengal Minister of Labour and ESI, Purnendu Basu, launched the Help Desk in presence of Amal Roy Chowdhury, Secretary, Department of Labour, Government of West Bengal, Sudhir Deoras, Chairman, CII Eastern Region, J P Chowdhary, Past President, CII, Nadeem Kazim, Chairman, IR Subcommittee, CII Eastern Region, Dr Saugat Mukherjee, Regional Director, CII Eastern Region and a host of top IR managers from the region.
Basu congratulated CII on creating the dedicated help desk on IR to address the concerns and queries of all the stakeholders relating to IR issues.
"CII is committed to creating greater awareness about social security in the region. More such initiatives are lined up. As part of our persistent efforts to catalyse industrial growth and ensure social security, we seek to act as a bridge between the Government and our member companies," said Deoras, who is also the Managing Director of TRF Ltd, a Tata Group company.
"The Help Desk will meet once in each month at the CII Eastern Region headquarters to address IR-related queries of the members and also recommend measures to ensure industrial peace and harmony," Deoras added.
"The Help Desk will facilitate dialogues and disseminate information on initiatives taken by the state governments on the IR front and also represent the views and perspectives of the industry members with the appropriate authorities of the state governments in the region," Dr Saugat Mukherjee said.
"Through this Help Desk, CII Eastern Region IR Subcommittee members would share their expertise to serve the MSME members in the region," said Nadeem Kazim.
