However, three pimps who solicited customers through websites and supplied girls to them managed to give the cops a slip.
According to the police, after receiving a tip-off, a decoy customer was sent to Nemai Jana and Nagesh Sawant to strike a deal at Calangute - a popular tourist hub.
"The two victim girls were brought in a WagonR Car as was demanded. It was then a team of police along with NGO Anyay Rahit Zindagi caught the two men red-handed," said police spokesman.
The accused have told the police during interrogation that Julia Sen alias Charlie solicited customers and girls for prostitution through websites while Sam confirmed deals via phone calls and Pradeep supplied girls to various customers. The trio is on the run.
The police said the victim girls are lodged at the state-run Protective Home.
"A government panel will record their statements and they will then be sent for medical examination to confirm whether they were sexually exploited before the raid," said an officer.
A case under sections 4, 5 and 7 of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 and section 67-A of Information and Technology Act (Amended) has been registered against the accused. The two arrested locals are also charged with living on the earnings of the victim girls.
