Manasi launched 'Shakti' collection

Kolkata, Sept 18 : Fashion designer Manasi Sengupta launched her latest collection of sarees, salwars and kurtas based on the theme, 'Shakti' to mark the upcoming Durga Puja festival here on Tuesday.


The collection has been inspired by film director Reshmi Mitra's movie 'Mukti' whose team was present at the launch to showcase the range.

Reshmi was decked in a red and beige saree while actor Rajdeep Gupta and lyricist Gautam wore 'Komon' - the men's collection by Mansi.

Manasi said that the USP of her collection lies in the fact that they are all woven out of natural fiber with the printing done in blocks.



Also that it fits the taste and pockets of a wide spectrum of buyers with ranges starting from Rs. 1650 for ladies' and Rs.1850 for the men's collection, she added.

The materials consist of dhakai, muga, tasar, chanderi, muslin, andhra cotton and so on, the designer noted.

The theme of Shakti has been symbolised aptly by the use of red and white primarily.

The designer also revealed her upcoming plans which would hover around some wedding collection and lehengas.
