Belgian Shepherd, Brus, and a German Shepherd named Blade, were part of the unit guarding the Duke of Cambridge at RAF Valley, Anglesey, the Mirror reported.
However, a Ministry of Defence rep said that the dogs were not there to protect William, but as a package of increased security for the base while he was there.
The spokesman confirmed the news of the killing, but denied any connection to William no longer being at the RAF Valley, asserting that it was entirely coincidental.
The rep added that one of the dogs had come to the end of its working life and the other had behavioural issues, so both of them were unsuitable for reassignment elsewhere.
