BSF beats BGB in basketball friendly

Dhaka, Sept 15 : India's Border Security Force (BSF) won the Maitree Cup, by defeating Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a basketball match held at Dhaka on Saturday.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) had for the first time organised, the Maitree Cup, a friendly basketball match between teams of BSF and BGB.

Advocate Shamsul Hoque Tuku, State Minister from the Bangladesh Ministry of Home Affairs was the chief guest of the event.

Subhash Joshi, IPS, Director General, Border Security Force (BSF) along with a 19-member delegation reached at Bangladesh on Saturday to attend the Director General Level Talks (DGLT) with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), which will go on till Sept 19.

This event was organised as a part of Confidence Building Measure (CBM) between the BSF and BGB, the two border guarding forces of India and Bangladesh respectively.

The inter-force tournament was first organised by BSF in Delhi during the month of March 2013 at Thyagraj Stadium, New Delhi.
