Pak T20 side still preparing for India held-Champions League despite 'visa denial' report

Karachi, Sept 12 : Pakistan Twenty20 team Faisalabad Wolves are reportedly going ahead with their training for the upcoming Champions League Twenty20 tournament despite reports suggesting that they have been denied visas to go to India.


The Indian media reported that the Wolves, who had became the second Pakistan outfit to qualify for the tournament, will not be granted Indian visa due to security concerns in the wake of the political tensions between the two governments.

According to the Express Tribune, although the Wolves, which is led by Pakistan Test and One-Day International captain Misbah-ul Haq, are scheduled to start the four-team qualifying stage of the event from September 17, the qualifying stage after the visa refusal may be a three-side affair if they do not get the visa.

However, former Test cricketer and the Wolves' manager Haroon Rasheed said that the team is going ahead with their preparations for the event, adding that they have not been officially informed anything about the visa issue.

Rasheed also said that the outfit is in touch with event's committee and also provided reports of their players to tournament's medical panel, with the report adding that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was also unaware of the team's fate about the development.
