Kemar Roach worries Big Bash side with 'sudden appearance' in Papua New Guinea ahead of Champions League

Sydney, Sept 11 : Barbados cricketer Kemar Roach had reportedly made his Big Bash League team Brisbane Heat readjust their plans to book him to a flight to India for the upcoming Champions League Twenty20 tournament after he was found to be in Papua New Guinea on a cricket development mission.

This is not the first time that the fast bowler left his team in a tizzy after he was literally lost in transit when he became stuck in China without much of a trace on the way to Australia for the Twenty20 Big Bash tournament.

According to, just a few days left for the tournament in India to begin, the Brisbane franchise, which had been set to book Roach on a flight from Barbados to Ranchi, had to scour the globe for Roach before he turned up unexpectedly in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

The report mentioned that Roach had linked with West Indies ODI captain Dwayne Bravo and former captain Richie Richardson to help groom cricketers in PNG through coaching clinics.

Meanwhile, the Brisbane franchise, which will play their first Champions League game against Trinidad and Tobago on September 22, will face an uphill battle to qualify for the Champions League finals considering they will be without big-name players Shane Watson and Mitchell Johnson, who are playing for other Champions League teams, the report added.
