Apple's new iPhones good enough despite few disappointments

Washington, Sept. 11 : Apple unveiled the latest versions of its flagship iPhones yesterday and the new features added to the smartphone are both a hit and miss.

The tech giant has managed to imbibe in its latest devices good technology without compromising on its design and ease of use.

However, there are still a couple of features which users would not like having done away with by the company. The battery life of the iPhone 5S and of its low-cost plastic body version iPhone 5C, is quite disappointing, as it can survive only through a work day.

According to CNN, the iPhone5S does encompass in it the much anticipated fingerprint scanner, a rather sophisticated technology which was much needed. The sensor button can also be used as a password replacement for any app or online service.

Apple has included the M7 processor for the accelerometer, compass and gyroscope sensors, which does not hit to the battery life but it is not fit to work with GPS sensor.

The smartphone's camera is yet another hit with its dual-LED flash to improve white balance and color accuracy in dark settings and the new sensor is a bet against some of the best smartphone cameras in the market.

The report said that despite Apple providing a relatively low-cost iPhone 5C, the disappointingly old OS is a miss for many analysts who expected an improved Siri feature in tune with the new hardware.

Next features the iOS gaming platform, which could have been upgraded or support third-party controller accessories in iOS 7.

As the new iPhone5S also come in gold and gray models, the scrapping of the black/slate model altogether is disappointing, the report added.
