The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), in partnership with the Institute of International Education (IIE), New York hosted a U.S. University Fair in Kolkata on Sunday, drawing a large number of students seeking admission in US varsities.

The fair, held at Oberoi Grand Hotel, witnessed a huge turnout as representatives from 26 accredited American universities participated and disseminated detailed information about their institutions and programmes.

These universities offer a range of academic programmes at undergraduate, graduate and doctorate levels.

USIEF-IIE Education USA Fair 2013 is an annual series which brings accredited American universities to India for a face-to-face interaction with Indian students, parents and high school faculty.

This is the first time that the USIEF-IIE Education USA Fair was held in Kolkata.

Students got an opportunity to get the most updated, relevant and authentic information about their programmes of interest, standardized tests and financial aid under one roof from several American institutions coming from across the United States.

Informative panel discussions on various aspects of the admissions cycle were also held during the education fair and a consular officer from the U.S. Consulate familiarized students with the student visa process.
