'Satyanweshi' is a mystery thriller directed by late Rituparno Ghosh and produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni.

Indian director Sujoy Ghosh plays the role of Byomomkesh Bakshi in the film.

It is a tale inspired from Bengali author Sharadindu Bondyopadhyay's 'Chorabali'.

The director created a plot out of it where he could successfully entangle his audience in the webs of mystery to allow them to find the ending yet more interesting and surprising.

The subtlety in his direction was established by the unsolved maze that kept the audience curious till the end of the film.
