Jayalalithaa drops one minister

Chennai, Sep 5 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa Thursday dropped Vaigaichelvan, minister for school education, sports, youth welfare and Tamil language and culture, from her council of ministers, said a official statement.


According to the statement, Governor K.Rosaiah accepted Jayalalithaa's recommendation to drop Vaigaichelvan.

The governor has also accepted Jayalalithaa's recommendation that P.Palaniappan, minister for higher education, will hold additional charge of portfolios hitherto handled by Vaigaichelvan.
