Zimbabwe takes slim lead on second day of first Test against Pak

Johannesburg, Sept 5 : Zimbabwe has taken a first innings lead with 281 for seven at the close on the second day of the first Test against Pakistan at the Harare Sports Club on Wednesday.

According to Sport24, the African nation has taken a lead of 32 with the help of half-centuries from batsmen Malcolm Waller and Sikandar Raza and the pairing of the duo, who came together Zimbabwe lost two wickets off successive balls, added 127 for the fourth wicket.

The report further said that Waller changed the tempo of the match with an aggressive 70, while Pakistan-born Raza, who was a late inclusion in the squad with the withdrawal of regular captain Brendan Taylor due to the birth of his first child, made 60 on his Test debut.

According to the report, Zimbabwe needed just two balls to wrap up the Pakistan innings at the start of play, with the tourists losing their last wicket without adding a run to their overnight 249 for nine.

It was a disappointing day for Pakistan, with only bowlers Saeed Ajmal and Junaid Khan posing a consistent threat to their underdog opponents, although Rahat Ali bowled a hostile three-over spell with the second new ball, the report added.
