India A set for draw with New Zealand A in 'unofficial Test' after Juneja's batting heroics

Wellington, Sept 5 : The four-day unofficial Test match between New Zealand A and India A is reportedly set for a draw after a third day of bat dominating ball including a big hundred by a future Indian batting star

According to, 22-year-old Manprit Juneja batted the entire day and remained unbeaten on his impressive 178 as India A reached stumps at 408-7 in their first innings during the third day at Visakhapatnam, although they were still 29 runs behind the visitors.

The report said that Juneja faced 336 balls in his mammoth innings, hitting 19 fours and a six.

The report further said that Juneja, who is playing in just his 12th first class match, has already scored four centuries before this one, three fifties, has a highest score of 201 made on debut and averages 72.20.

Juneja and batsman Vasudevan Jagadeesh added 197 for the third wicket before Doug Bracewell bowled opener Jagadeesh for 91, while Abhishek Nayar and Juneja then added a further 88 for the fourth wicket before Bracewell bowled Nayar too, the report added.
