Deaf, mute woman raped in Bengal

Kolkata, Sep 4 : A deaf and mute tribal woman was raped in West Bengal's North Dinajpur district, police said Wednesday.


"We have registered a complaint of rape. The victim is a deaf and mute tribal woman. The incident happened Tuesday in Raiganj. We are yet to arrest anybody," said North Dinajpur Superintendent of Police A.K. Chaturvedi.

The woman was alone in her house when two people barged in, and one of them raped her, police said.

A medical test has been conducted on the woman, the report of which is awaited.
