President to visit Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Sep 3 : President Pranab Mukherjee will undertake a two-day visit to Odisha starting Friday, official sources here said Tuesday.


After his arrival Sep 6 in state capital Bhubaneswar, Mukherjee would proceed to the temple town of Puri, 56 km from here, and spend the night at the Raj Bhavan there, a state home department official told IANS.

On Sep 7, he would visit the Jagannath temple and return to Bhubaneswar to attend the second convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology-Bhubaneswar.

The president is also scheduled to attend the convocation of management students of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan before returning to New Delhi the same day, he said.

This will be Mukherjee's second visit to the state after becoming president. He had earlier visited the state in April.
