According to reports, Myanmarese soldiers reportedly crossed the border two to three days ago and started cutting trees to set up a temporary camp at Holenphai village in the border town of Moreh.
However the Indian Army stopped the move that surrounded a disputed pillar, numbered 76, along the border, media reports said quoting a senior Home Ministry official.
"The Myanmar army was cutting trees to make their post on the border. The area was very close to the International Border, but our army got it stopped," Shambhu Singh, Home Ministry's Joint Secretary, North East was quoted as saying.
The incident was also downplayed by security forces who said it had arisen out of a local misunderstanding and was not an incursion.
