Simon Cowell plans to name to-be-born kid after dad as 'fitting tribute'

London, August 27: Simon Cowell has reportedly told his friends that he wants to name his first child with pregnant gal-pal Lauren Silverman, after his dad Eric, who helped kick-start his showbiz career.

Sources revealed that the couple is thinking about names and the X Factor judge has decided that if it's a boy they will name him Eric and if it's a girl Erica, to honour his father who died of a heart attack in 1999, the Daily Star reported.

Though Lauren hasn't decided yet, she is taking the 53-year old music mogul's input seriously and has admitted that she likes the name Eric as it is unusual in America and "quite stylish", also, because Cowell thinks it would be a fitting tribute.

The Syco boss's mother Julie Brett had previously admitted that Cowell "still misses him terribly" and believes that his father, who worked as a record label executive was the key reason for his success.

Cowell is expecting his first child with the 36-year old New York socialite in February 2014.
