BSF seizes 10 kg heroin in Punjab

Amritsar, Aug 27 : The Border Security Force (BSF) Tuesday seized nearly 10 kg of heroin, valued at Rs.50 crore in the international market, from near the Pakistan border in Punjab, officials said.

The seizure was made at Udhar Dhariwal in Amritsar sector following a tip.

The BSF has seized 174 kg heroin along the Punjab border this year. Last year, it seized 290 kg.

Punjab has a 553-km-long international border with Pakistan which is fenced with electrified barbed wire inside Indian territory.
