A Taliban official, on condition of anonymity, told The Express Tribune that they would not support any understanding between Afghanistan and Pakistan leadership that might ignore their existence.
Afghan Ambassador Umer Daudzai said Karzai would push Pakistan to facilitate the reconciliation process with the Taliban, the report added.
Earlier in June, the Taliban had closed down their political office in the Qatar capital, Doha, after Karzai's objection to the flag and signboard of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan at the office.
Karzai had slammed the group for trying to run a parallel government in exile.
The Taliban, however, said that they have no immediate plans for an alternate political office.
