Mamata offers prayers at Kamakhya temple

Guwahati, Aug 23 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday visited the Kamakhya Temple at Guwahati.

Accompanied by former Union Railway minister Mukul Roy, the West Bengal CM had arrived at Borjhar airport and visited the historic temple.

"It is my personal visit and I offered my prayer to goddess Kamakhya," the Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief said.

"I consider myself extremely lucky that my wish has been fulfilled today and promised to again visit in next few months," Mamata said.

Banerjee further said that, it was her second visit to Assam and she had sanctioned 22 trains to the state as the Railway minister.

Mamata Banerjee left for Kolkata after her visit.
