Hayden launches crusade to save men from prostate cancer

Sydney, Aug 20 : Former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden has advised men to discuss getting a prostate check as more men die of prostate cancer than women of breast cancer.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Hayden, the face of the 2013 Big Aussie Barbie campaign, is encouraging men to discuss their testing and treatment options with their families.

Hayden's father was diagnosed with the disease almost five years ago and completed radiotherapy in January, so he knows the turmoil the cancer can cause, the report said.

Big Aussie Barbie encourages people to host a fundraising barbecue to help raise funds for charity.

Meanwhile, Hayden also expressed that a barbecue is a family driven event and also provides the blokes a great opportunity to discuss prostate cancer, the report added.
