Food Bill an election trick: BJP

New Delhi, Aug 20 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday alleged that the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government having failed to get the National Food Security Bill approved in the Budget Session, considered an ordinance route to enact it, a political promise made in 2009 general elections.

UPA President Sonia Gandhi with Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit implemented this flagship bill of the UPA in Delhi at Talkatora Stadium during the day, where the BJP supporters criticized it by protesting outside the Stadium.

Delhi Kisan Morcha President RajKumar Ballan, who is present at the protest, said: "Food security bill is a new trick for fooling the people. Poor people will only suffer if this bill will get passed now.

He alleged that Food security bill is just a trick as assembly elections are near but Delhi people will answer this fail govt in coming assembly elections".

Sonia Gandhi rolled out the scheme here beginning with the national capital and following up with all other Congress ruled states.
