Mumbai, Aug 14 : The BSE Sensex rose 0.72 percent on Wednesday as investors tracked gains in European markets. The 30-share benchmark index ended 137.75 points higher at 19,367.59 with 18 of its components closing in the green. The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.75 percent or 43.00 points higher at 5,742.30 on Wednesday. Tata Group surged companies following favourable quarterly numbers by units Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Steel. Meanwhile in the bullion market, gold edged up by Rs 15 to Rs 29,675 per 10 grams while silver slipped by Rs 25 to finish at Rs 47,010 per kg.
