Univeral signs singer Mustafa Zahid

Mumbai, Aug 7 : Leading music label, Universal Music India has announced the latest artist to join their roster of musicians.

Mustafa Zahid known for his song 'Bhula Dena Mujhe' from Aashiqui 2,has recently been signed on by the music label exclusively for all live shows in India as well as his upcoming album which is set to be released later this year.

The Pakistani Rock artist has seen a fair share of success since he burst onto the music scene in 2006 with his hit single "Tera Mera Rishta".

He broke into Bollywood in 2007 and has since successfully sung for various films such as Murder 3, Action Replay, Shootout at Wadala, Ashiqui 2 to name a few.

Speaking on the occasion, Mustafa Zahid said, "I'm very excited to be signed onto Universal Music, one of the leading labels across the world. I'm sure that this association is going to be very succesful and I look forward to working with them."

R H Chhatrapati, Vice President Universal Music Group South Asia, commented, "Mustafa is a great artist, very talented in both spheres of composing as well as live performances and we are glad to have him on board exclusive for our live business. He has also performed in over 50 cities worldwide including New York, Glasgow, Karachi, Mumbai, Dubai Manama and the London Wembley Arena."

Mustafa is also the band leader and the lead vocalist of Roxen, an all out rock band which he formed with some of his friends in 2004. He first gained recognition for his work in the movie Awarapan in which he composed two of the film's most popular songs.
