Two bombs recovered in Manipur

Imphal, Apr 5 : Security forces recovered two powerful bombs from two places in Manipur's Imphal West and Ukhrul districts on Friday, officials said.

The bombs were planted by suspected militants to attack security personnel.

According to reports, security forces recovered a bomb weighing two kg from a roadside culvert near Merakhong area under Patsoi police station in Imphal West district.

Security personnel recovered another bomb from Litan area on Imphal-Ukhrul road in Ukhrul district.

"Suspected militants had planted the bombs targeting the patrolling security personnel," a police official said.

Later bomb squad teams defused the bombs.
