Day 14: Anna asks Arvind to end fast
Veteran social activist Anna Hazare on Friday requested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) architect Arvind Kejriwal to end his indefinite fast against rising electricity and water prices in Delhi.
Addressing a rally at Ambala city in Haryana, Hazare said: "I appeal to Arvind Kejriwal to end his fast. He has a lot to do for the society. His life is more important to us because he will be able to fight against corruption only if he is alive."
Meanwhile, Kejriwal's fast entered its 14th day on Friday.
"His blood pressure is 111/73, pulse 64, sugar 131, ketones 3 and weight is 56.5 kg," said the AAP in a statement.
On Thursday, Kejriwal announced the next level of the Civil Disobedience Movement at Sunder Nagri here.
He said on Apr 6, AAP volunteers would go door-to-door restoring electricity connections of poor people in Delhi
Addressing a gathering in Sunder Nagri, Kejriwal said: "On Apr 6, 1930, Gandhi broke the salt law, taking inspiration from him, I have started the Civil Disobedience movement. So far we were collecting signatures, Apr 6 onwards we will go a step ahead. I appeal to the people of Delhi to restore electricity connections of the poor."
Challenging Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit, he said, We will lighten up those houses where Sheila Dikshit has spread darkness. I am challenging her to keep as many policemen ready to stop up. But now public will restore the connections."
